At Miss United Southern States, we take great pride in providing a fair, transparent, and non-biased judging system.

Our goal is to ensure that every contestant is evaluated equally, based on her own presentation, confidence, and overall impression—creating a positive and rewarding experience for all.

We carefully select judges who are:

• Unbiased and not affiliated with contestants

• Focused on fairness and integrity

Judges are chosen to represent a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, ensuring a well-rounded and balanced evaluation process.

Non-Biased Judging

We are proud to offer a system built on non-biased judging practices.

• Judges are not informed of contestant backgrounds or affiliations

• Personal relationships or outside influences are not considered

• Each contestant is evaluated independently

Every score is based solely on what is presented during competition.

What Judges Are Looking For

While each phase highlights different strengths, judges are generally evaluating:

• Confidence & Stage Presence

• Overall Appearance

• Personality & Poise

• Authenticity and Natural Presentation

We encourage contestants to be themselves and enjoy the moment on stage.

Scoring Breakdown

Scoring is based on the required phases of competition for each division.

Younger Divisions (Pre-K – Preteen)

• Beauty / Evening Gown

• Opening Number

Older Divisions (Jr. Teen & Up)

• Beauty / Evening Gown

• Opening Number

• Interview

Optional Competitions

Optional competitions are judged separately and:

• Do not affect required competition scores

• Provide additional opportunities for awards and recognition

Consistent & Balanced Scoring

To ensure fairness:

• All contestants are judged using the same criteria

• Scores are carefully calculated and reviewed

• Multiple judges are used to create a balanced final result
