The Beautiful Baby divisions of the Miss United Southern States Pageant celebrate our youngest contestants in a fun, relaxed, and family-friendly environment, focusing on natural charm, sweet personality, and a joyful first pageant experience.
 

• Newborn Miss
  Contestants born after January 1 of the current competition year.  These contestants were not eligible for the State Pageants.

• Wee Baby Miss USS
  Contestants under 1 year of age as of January 1.

• Toddler Miss USS
  Contestants 12–23 months of age on January 1.

• Preschool Miss USS**
  Contestants ages 2–3 years as of January 1.

  • **Eligibility Clarification:
    Contestants who are 3 years old as of January 1 may only compete in this division if they are not eligible for Pre-K by September 1 of the competition year.

  • If a contestant is eligible for Pre-K, she will compete in the Jr. Princess division.

Overall Title, Baby Miss USS:

• One overall winner will be crowned from these divisions and awarded the title of Baby Miss USS, in addition to the individual age division titles.

For the Beautiful Baby divisions, a contestant’s official competition age is determined by their age as of January 1 of the competition year and is used only to place them in the correct age division. Contestants must not have reached Pre-K age by September 1 of the competition year; if a contestant is eligible to enter Pre-K for that school year, they should compete in the Jr. Princess division.

To maintain the natural focus of these divisions, contestants must appear completely natural.

The following items are not permitted:

• Makeup

• Artificial hairpieces or extensions

• Flippers or similar dental enhancements

• Any artificial beauty enhancements

The goal of these divisions is to celebrate each contestant’s natural beauty and personality.

At the state level, contestants in the Beautiful Baby divisions will compete in Beauty Dress only. Dresses may be short or long. Contestants will wear pageant dress or Sunday best style dress. Glitz-style dresses are not recommended.  Judges will be looking for a naturally beautiful baby with lots of personality and loves the stage.
