Model America
The Model America competition is one of the most exciting and high-energy moments of the Miss Alabama United Southern States Pageant!
This optional competition allows contestants to step outside of traditional pageant wear and showcase their personality, confidence, and stage presence in a fun and engaging way.
What is Alabama Model America?
Model America is a Denim & Bling competition where anything goes—as long as it reflects the contestant’s personality and style.
This is a model-style runway presentation, giving contestants the opportunity to shine, have fun, and connect with the judges and audience.
Contestants may:
-
Show personality on stage
-
Model with confidence
-
Smile for judges and the photographer at the end of the runway
What to Wear
-
Denim & Bling attire
-
Outfits should reflect the contestant’s personality
-
This is your time to stand out and have fun!
💫 There are no strict rules—just be age-appropriate and confident.
Model America Titles
-
One winner per session (not per grade level)
-
Awarded as the second title pulled following the Overall Queens
Each Model America winner receives:
-
A crown and sash
-
A teddy bear (if we determine the Model America title isn't double crowned). Contestants will only receive one teddy bear.
Important Information
-
Model America is an optional competition
-
Contestants must be able to walk the runway independently to participate
-
The Beautiful Baby divisions do not participate
If a contestant is age 3 and able to walk independently, she may move up for this competition only and compete in the Pre-K division.
Title Eligibility
-
To ensure more contestants are recognized and celebrated, Overall Queens are not eligible to receive the Model America title as it is considered another overall.
-
Our Overall Queens have a full year of optional appearances and scheduled events, and holding both titles would not allow them to fully and successfully represent each role.
Final Details Coming Soon
-
The Model America historically was awarded to the second highest score in the total session.
-
Model America is considered a separate title within a different system, and we are currently finalizing:
-
Whether the title may be double crowned
-
We are still trying to determine how crowning fits with the USS crowning structure. If we do not double crown grade level titles, the Model America title winner would not have a title for the USS Nationals should they want to compete.
-
Final details will be announced soon—please stay tuned for updates.
Why Participate?
-
Model America is a favorite among contestants because it’s:
-
Fun and relaxed
-
A chance to express individuality
-
A second opportunity to be crowned
-
It’s all about confidence, personality, and being beYOUtiful on stage.
